To decompress the file, type in "TWQM" at the DOS prompt. Be in the directory you wish to install the model. A subdirectory TAILWTR with a subdirectory of TGRAPHIC will be created. When extracted they will take up approximately 2.1 Mb bytes of disk space. The files in the TAILWTR directory are as follows: General information file, TEPLAIN.EXE; data file generation, TMENU.EXE & TWQI.EXE; data file modification, TFIX.EXE; tailwater quality model, TAILWTR.EXE; and post processor, TREFORM.EXE & TPFILE.EXE programs. Several *.BAT files are also decompressed to the TAILWTR directory. They are: TPGRAPH.BAT, TPPLOT.BAT, TWQB1.BAT,TWQB2.BAT, and TWQB3.BAT. TPGRAPH and TPPLOT are files which are used in the graphics routines of TAILWTR. TWQB1.BAT is the main *.BAT file which creates the input data set, runs the TWQM, and plots results if the user has GRAPHER software. TWQB2 allows the user to run the TWQM and graphics routines with an existing data file. TWQB3 only runs the graphics routines using existing output files. The files in the TGRAPHIC directory are as follows: Files in this directory are required for the GRAPHER viewing and plotting options in the TWQM. These are not the GRAPHER software files, but are graph files already configured for the output from the TWQM. The user must already have the GRAPHER software to use these graphing options. Also located in this subdirectory are two batch files TWPLOT(M or K).BAT and TWGRAPH(M or K).BAT which are used by the TWQB(1,2, or3).BAT programs to view and plot using GRAPHER. Depending on whether output data is in English or metric units will determine which batch file will run. For example, if output is in English units, TWGRAPHM.BAT will run if the option to view with GRAPHER was selected or TWPLOTM will run if the option to plot was selected. If the GRAPHER graphics option is selected, the batch programs discussed previously will search for GRAPHER software in a subdirectory named GRAPHER. In the TGRAPHIC subdirectory are two batch files, GRAF.BAT and PLOTT.BAT, called by TWGRAPH(M or K).BAT and TWPLOT(M or K).BAT, used in viewing and plotting the GRAPHER plots, respectively. The user must update the path in these two files to correspond to the path for GRAPHER if the GRAPHER software is not in the subdirectory, GRAPHER on their system. The paths in these two batch files are: GRAF.BAT path is c:\grapher\grapher %1 c:\grapher\view %1 PLOTT.BAT path is c:\grapher\grapher %1 c: cd\grapher plot c:\tailwtr\tgraphic\%1.plt/b In subdirectory TAILWTR there are two sample input data files which can be run using the batch file, TWQB2.BAT. These sample data files are NIM89.DAT and ROUGH1.DAT. Observed data which corresponds with these input data files are OBSNIM89.DAT and OBSRR.DAT, respectively. These observed data are required for the graphics using GRAPHER. Before running the TWQB2.BAT, copy one of the observed data files into a file called OBSERVED.DAT depending on which input data file you selected to run. To run the batch file type: >TWQB2 This will run TWQM using one of the existing input data files which the user specifies and plots the results using GRAPHER if the user has the software. If you have any problems or questions about TWQM, contact Dr. Barry Bunch (601-634-3617) or Ms. Dorothy H. Tillman (601-634-2676). Please report any errors encountered so that they may be corrected.
